The sun rises and it is raining. It will not stop to rain in the whole day. It is the first day with the weather that we expected before coming, typical British.
As we are used to, we leave the accommodation soon but we spend almost 2 hours to complete the 5/6kms. between Fircroft and the city center. As in Spain, we notice that when it is raining, all the people take their cars.
The activity for today, is to take part in a local event or seminar in an elderly center as part of the volunteering week coordinated by BVSC and that this year makes its 30th anniversary.
With the help of Claudia, Donna, June and Neil, we take contact with other groups of volunteers and take part on the final ceremony on which the best volunteers or those who made the greatest work were given a diploma. Furthermore, to the first four (the most honored) a bunch of flowers is given (one of this prizes is taken by Miguel as the volunteer is not there). We have a photo of it.
In the afternoon we visit a covered market on the center of B’ham and close to the offices of BVSC. We walk a little bit till the rain appears again and we can only enter on closed spaces: shops, galleries and big facilities. Back home, we follow our routine; programme of the next day, coffee all together in the living room and rain, and rain…

The day starts nice, sunny and fresh. What allows me to go running.
We have problems with the bus and we start working at 9:15 a.m.. It is the volunteers week and we have to take care of the people who are interested on the activities of this week and offer their time and effort to others. We learn how to introduce details in a data base that allows the people who want to volunteer to have contact with those offering opportunities for volunteering.
We are accompanied by the volunteers who were in Logroño, Donna and in the afternoon by Azam too.
We have lunch in a vegetarian restaurant managed by the friends of earth; ecologists and supporters of the use of bicycles within the cities. We cannot complain about the variety of restaurants as we have already been in an Indian, traditional English, Chinese and vegetarian one.
