Donna saw us off from Wolverhampton station yesterday morning (Friday) at 9.30. Landed without incident at Bilbao and David from Gantalcala drove us to Logrono in Rioja. The Basque region was superb, the Lake District without lakes.
Today we have had a whistle stop tour and history of Logroño. Compact yet lovely city surrounded by mountains and rivers. Two highlights for me was a chance meeting with an old friend and the sight of a statue of a man on a horse that is the origin of the saying "Tiene más cojones que el caballo de Espartero."
